Obituary of Earl Thomas Spencer

Earl Thomas "Tom" Spencer, Sr., age 78, of Wellsboro, PA, died Friday, February 20, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born October 3, 1936 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Earl and Laura (Kennedy) Spencer. Tom was employed by Ingersoll Rand/Dresser Rand for 38 years as a machinist and quality control inspector. He also served as a Union Rep. at Dresser Rand. Tom was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, the NRA and St. Peter's Catholic Church. He enjoyed gardening, cooking and spending time with his grandchildren. Tom was in the Marine Corps reserves. Tom is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law, Earl T. and Carole Spencer, Jr. of Wellsboro, PA, Lane Spencer of Wellsboro, PA; 2 daughters, Marcia Walk of VA, Susan Holt of Wellsboro, PA; 5 grandchildren, Daniel, Danielle, Alyssa, Aryana and Braedan; 3 great grandchildren, Lexy, Cam and Jaceton; a brother and sister-in-law, Patrick and Patti Spencer of FL; 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Fern Graham of FL, Maryanne and Robert Eckman of Millerton, PA; his former wife and mother of his children, Carolyn McMichael of Milton, PA. He was predeceased by brothers, Llewellyn, Jim, John "Jack" Spencer, a sister, June Royer; the love of his life, Phyllis Belcher, and a nephew, Pat Eckman. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, February 28, 2015 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA.
