Obituary of Joseph F. Berberian
Joseph F. Berberian, phD, MD of Wellsboro, PA, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 21, 2007 in Shippen Twp. Dr. Berberian was the Director of Pathology at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital in Coudersport, PA. He was the husband of Constance Connie E. (Winkel) Berberian with whom he observed a 40th wedding anniversary on August 6, 2006. Dr. Berberian received his medical degree from the University Of Nebraska College Of Medicine in 1958. He received his bachelors degree from St. Norbert College, a masters and doctorate from University of Notre Dame. After medical school he interned at Bishop Clarkson Memorial Hospital in Omaha Nebraska. Dr. Berberian did a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology in Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. He was board certified by the American Board of Pathology in anatomic and clinical pathology and was a fellow of the College of American Pathologists. He was a WWII US Army veteran and served with the 2nd Armed Division in Central Europe.
Dr. Berberian is survived by his wife Connie of Wellsboro, PA, two daughters Nancy Anne Russomano of Albany, NY, and Mary Michele Berberian of Elmira, NY.
On Saturday February 24, 2007 at 9:45 AM the Rosary will be prayed. A Funeral Mass to follow at 10:00 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church in Wellsboro, PA with the Rev. Shane L. Kirby as Celebrant, family and friends are invited to attend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Disable Veterans Association., DAV Memorial Program, PO Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
