Obituary of Donald T. Deats
Donald T. "Ted" Deats, age 85, of Lawrenceville, PA, died Sunday, January 11, 2015 at the Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. He was born November 7, 1929 in Tioga Junction, PA, a son of Donald T. Sr. and Arlene (Butler) Deats. Ted's wife, Avis (Deming), passed away in 2008. He worked at Ingersol Rand; farmed, and was co-owner of Deats and Son Excavating in Lawrenceville for over 50 years. Ted was a U.S. Army veteran.
Ted is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Gay Deats of Middlebury Center, PA; a daughter-in-law, Deborah Deats of Lawrenceville, PA; 2 brothers, Ellsworth and Martin; 7 grandchildren, Kara, Tanya, Katie, Christopher, Krista, Mary Janae, Kayla; 6 great grandchildren, Mazie, Shalaney, Addison, Mikka, Seamus and Anastasia; several nieces and a nephew. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a son, Dennis in 2013.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, January 15, 2015 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 P.M. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Tioga, PA.
