Obituary of Gladys L. Wood
Gladys L. (Heater) Wood, age 103, of Mansfield, PA, formerly of Roseville, PA, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, November 3, 2014. Gladys was born September 23, 1911 in Austinville, PA, to the late Charles and Anna (Seeley) Heater. Gladys married her husband, Earl G. Wood on June 11, 1925.
She is survived by a son, Gordon (Sheila) Wood of Tioga, PA; a daughter, Anna May Hammond of Mansfield, PA; a special grandson, Chuck Wood, a special granddaughter, Jaymie Hammond; special great granddaughter, Haylie Hammond; daughters-in-law, Mary, Bev and Anita Wood; 22 grandchildren; 36 great grandchildren; 45 great great grandchildren and 2 great, great, great grandchildren.
Gladys was a member of the Roseville Methodist Church. She was a loving, caring wife, mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents and husband, Earl, Gladys was predeceased by brothers, Charles, Milford, Judd and Melvin Heater; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Wood; children, Charles, Richard, Delos, Wilbur Wood, Sr.; grandchildren, Sheila Rasmussen, Floyd, Delos Wood, Richard Wood, Wilbur Wood Jr.; great grandson, Michael Wood.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. and Sunday, November 9, from noon to 1:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Rev. Michelle Bodle officiating. Burial will be in Jobs Corners Cemetery.
