Obituary of James Barr

James Barr, age 71, of Mainesburg, PA, died Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, PA. James was born April 28, 1943 in Abington, PA, a son of William and Virginia (Miller) Barr. James celebrated his 31st wedding anniversary with his wife, Shay Kerns-Barr, on June 4th. He was a self-employed automobile mechanic before he retired. James was a member of H.O.G.; Lost Dutchman Mining Assoc.; enjoyed riding his Harley, and gold prospecting. James is survived by his wife, Shay; a son, Michael Barr of Sellersville, PA; 6 daughters, Brenda Barr-Moyer, Virginia Barr-Lutz, and Lisa Barr, Billie Jo (Plank) Johnson of Kansas City, MO, Megan (Roe) Strawbridge, Dubois PA, and Heather Hawk of Wellsboro, PA ; 3 brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Millie Barr of North Whales, PA, William and Lorraine Barr of Woxall, PA, John and Christine Barr of Marrietta, PA; 16 grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, and a sister, Joan Nelson. A motorcycle ride will take place in honor of James Barr.
