Obituary of Iva Mary Wheeler
Iva M. Wheeler, age 98, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 in the Carleton Senior Care Center in Wellsboro, PA. Born on June 26, 1916 in Farmington, PA, she was the daughter of Fred and Velma (LeRoy) Colegrove. Iva was predeceased by her husband, Charles Clayton Wheeler in 1970. Prior to her retirement, Iva was employed with Corning Glass in Wellsboro, PA as a bulb inspector and recently received her 75 year award. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Wellsboro, PA and was an avid reader.
Iva is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Charles "Larry" and Joan Wheeler of Mansfield, PA; one daughter, Iva Marie "Buddy" Maynard of Tyrone, NY; two sisters-in-law, Eula Colegrove of Mansfield, PA, Thelma Wheeler of Roxbury, NY; one brother-in-law, Richard Simmons of Draper, PA; 8 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Charles, she was also predeceased by four sisters, Hilda Wheeler, Wilda Simmons, Dorothy Day, Leora Starks; two brothers, Dennis Colegrove, Edson "Tink" Colegrove, a grandson, Jerry Maynard, and a son-in-law, Dale Maynard.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, September 6, 2014 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main Street, Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will be held immediately following calling hours at noon at the funeral chapel with the Rev. Ahin Chakraborty officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Iva's memory to the Carleton Senior Care Center, 10 West Ave., Wellsboro, PA, 16901. Burial will be in the Cherry Flats Baptist Church Cemetery, Charleston Twp., PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
