Obituary of Hazel M. Tillinghast
Hazel M. Tillinghast, age 89, of Lawrenceville, PA, died Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at The Green Home, Wellsboro, PA. She was born July 31, 1925 in Wellsboro, PA, a daughter of Leonard and Hattie (Friends) Stafford. She was the wife of the late George W. Tillinghast. Hazel worked as a cook for Cuda's, Rotzell's and Schoonover's restaurants. She enjoyed cooking, plants, her cats, long rides in the country, ice cream cones and loved her family.
Hazel is survived by a son, Gerald Tillinghast of Lawrenceville, PA; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Bonnie and Danny Eldred of Ocala, FL, Ida Mae and Roger Fisher of Lawrenceville, PA; a sister, Esther Berry of Jackson Summit, PA; 8 grandchildren, Patrick Fisher, Rogina Bonomo, Joshua (Mary) Fisher, Jody (Annie) Fisher, Heather (Chuck) Sorge, Gregory Fisher, Donna Tillinghast, Erica (Frank) Dibitetetto; 14 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George, 2 brothers, John and Howard Stafford.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, August 7, 2014 from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will follow at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Debbie Button officiating. Burial will be in Alder Run Cemetery.
