Obituary of Joanne A. Shughart
Joanne A. Shughart, age 73, of Mansfield, PA, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Joanne was born September 4, 1940 in Newville, PA, a daughter of George and Dorothy (Coover) Piper. She was the wife of the late Norman Neil Shughart who died in 1998. Joanne was a member of the Covington Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, canning, and spending time with her family.
Joanne is survived by a daughter, Lona (Jim) Heyd of Morris, PA; 3 sons, David (Carol) Shughart of Mansfield, Dennis Shughart of Mansfield, Dale (Laurel) Shughart of Jersey Shore, PA; a sister, Theresa Lesher of Newville, PA; 5 brothers, Dale (Anna) Piper of Newville, PA, Larry (Kay) Piper of Carlisle, PA, Galen Piper of Boiling Springs, PA, Wayne (Linda) Piper of Shippensburg, PA, Roger (Deb) Piper of Carlisle, PA; a sister, Isabelle (Harold) Henry of New Cumberland, PA; 8 grandchildren; 1 great grandson; numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA, and Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. at Nauvoo United Methodist Church, Nauvoo, PA. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 A.M. at the church with Pastor Tom Harmic officiating. A graveside service will be held in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle, PA, on Wednesday at 3:00 P.M.
