Obituary of Charles W. Cleveland
Charles W. Cleveland, age 89, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at his home. Born on March 10, 1925 in Endicott, NY, Charles was the son of Lee and Eva (Nelson) Cleveland. Prior to his retirement, Charles was employed as a sandblaster and laborer with Dresser Rand. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Arnot Sportsmen's Club and the Wellsboro VFW. Charles enjoyed woodworking, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Charles is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert and Susan Cleveland of Wellsboro, PA, John and Karla Cleveland of Jacksonville, NC; one daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Tom Lewis of Raleigh, NC; one brother, Van Cleveland of Williamsport, PA; one sister, Dorotha Webster of Covington, PA; eight grandchildren, Susan, Jennifer, Sarah, Garrett, Dylan, Crystal, Erik, Ashley and seven great grandchildren, Jasmine, Taylor, Jordan, Alexis, Nicholas, William and Julian. Charles was predeceased by four brothers, Burton Cleveland in 2006, Leon Cleveland in 2008, Robert Cleveland, Paul Cleveland, a sister, Rosella Walters, his first wife, Lillian Cleveland and his second wife, Thelma Cleveland.
Family and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will be held immediately following calling hours at 5:00 PM at the funeral chapel. Memorial contributions may be made in Charles memory to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701 or Susquehanna Hospice, 24 Walnut St., Wellsboro, PA 16901. Burial will be in the Gray Cemetery, Covington, PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com
