Obituary of Emily Pfaadt
Emily Ruth Pfaadt, age 85, of Mansfield PA, died Friday, June 13, 2014 at Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro, PA. She was born November 23, 1928 in Scottdale, PA, a daughter of John Homer and Ruby (Bailey) Ruth. Emily was the widow of the late William Pfaadt. She was a retired nurse from Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital. Emily was a very active member of St. James Episcopal Church where she was involved with the Altar Guild and choir. She also enjoyed golfing, reading, needlework, playing bridge and later was a member of the Red Hatters.
Emily is survived by her son, Eric William (Susan Reyes) Pfaadt of Timonium, MD; her daughter, Margaret Cunningham (Timothy) Argo of Cincinnati, OH; her grandchildren, Karen Ruth (Matt) Bader and Thomas Michael Argo; her great grandson, Noah Jeffrey Bader; two brothers, John H. (Judy) Ruth of Cedar Rapids, IA; and James W. (Kathy) Ruth of Dunlap, IL, a cousin, Joyce Evans of Dewey, AZ; several nieces and a nephew, Beth (Steve) Westra, Cathy (Pat) Keeley, Melissa (Georgie) Ruth, Amy (Leigh) Allen and Michael (Romby) Ruth. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary Ellen Jones.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Wednesday, June 25th, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. James Episcopal Church, 18 St. James St., Mansfield, PA with Rev. Rowena Gibbons officiating. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to St. James Episcopal Church Organ Fund, 18 St. James St., Mansfield, PA 16933.
