Obituary of Charles G. Beer
Charles (Charlie) Beer, Jr., of Lawrenceville, PA. Born on January 6, 1934 in DuBois, PA, to Charles and Amy (Christian) Beer went home to be with his Lord on April 22, 2014 after a lengthy illness. He worked in the Engineering Department of Ingersoll Rand in Painted Post, NY, for 34 years and at Ingersoll Rand in Davidson, NC, retiring there after 6 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joann (Kitchen) Beer. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on February 25th of this year. Charles is also survived by two sons, Charles III (Debbie) Beer of Caton, NY, and Donald (Tricia) Beer of Poughkeepsie, NY, and a daughter Debbie (Roger) Hills of Lawrenceville, PA; 3 sisters, Gaynell Gent, Mary Ruth Fitzpatrick, and Marie Hutchins all of Dubois, PA; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, 1 brother and 1 sister.
He was a long time member of the East Lindley Baptist Church in Lindley, NY where he served on the Deacon's Board, as a Trustee, Sunday school teacher, vacation bible school teacher and Treasurer. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. His main love was his family. He liked spending time at their summer home in Cross Fork, PA.
A memorial service will be held at the East Lindley Baptist Church, 10039 Tannery Creek Road, Lindley, NY on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. Memorial contributions may be given to East Lindley Baptist Church, 10039 Tannery Creek Road, Corning, NY, 14830 or Guthrie Hospice, 421 Tomahawk Road, Towanda, PA 18848.
