Obituary of Doris V. Cowell

Doris "Ice Breaker" Veronica Bennett, Miles, Tripp, Cowell, age 76, of Millerton, PA, died Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Arnot Ogden Medical Center, Elmira, NY. Doris was born January 20, 1938 in Sabinsville, PA, a daughter of Howard Lee and Lidia Mae (Hackett) Bennett. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl H. Cowell, Jr. on August 27, 2004. Doris worked at Paper Magic, Thatcher Glass and tended bar for local bars before her retirement. Doris enjoyed home canning and loved animals. Doris is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Carla Miles of Fulton, Miss., Lawrence and Paula Miles of Lindley, NY, Kenny and Josephine Miles of Mansfield, PA; daughters and sons-in-law, Jean and Daryle Gardner of Jobs Corners, PA, Shelva and Lewis Gleason of Fulton, Miss.; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; 4 surviving siblings, many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Earl, a daughter, Rozina Suttle, and 12 siblings. Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, April 25, 2014 from Noon to 2:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA.
