Obituary of John B. Chase

John B. "Jack" Chase, age 76, of Covington, PA, died Thursday, February 20, 2014 at his home. Jack was born September 29, 1937 in Elmira, NY, a son of William and Nellie (Ward) Chase. He celebrated 57 years of marriage to Gayle (Rumsey) Chase on April 14th, 2013. Jack was a self-employed carpenter, enjoyed hunting, hiking, traveling, yard sales, auctions and outdoor activities. Jack is survived by his wife, Gayle; three sons and daughters-in-law, Erick Chase of Covington, PA, Tim and Kathleen Chase of Mansfield, PA, Clinton and Carole Chase of Covington, PA; a daughter, Jacqueline Williams of Aurora, CO; 6 grandchildren, Tara, Tamara, Tonya, Trenton, Cassie, and David; 4 great grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Myrna and Joe Barnes of Breeman, GA. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, February 23, 2014 from 3:00 to 4:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A memorial service will follow at 4:00 P.M. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Ken Smith officiating.
