Obituary of Stephen B. Ollock
"Doc" Stephen B. Ollock, DDS, age 64, of Mainesburg, PA, passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Doc was born May 31, 1949 in Wilkes Barre, PA, the son of Joseph and Victoria (Rusin) Ollock. He was the husband of Patricia (Taylor) Ollock. Doc attended Juniata College transferring to East Stroudsburg receiving his undergraduate degree. He then pursued his professional diploma and graduated from Temple Dental School in Philadelphia, PA. Doc began his dental career in Sayre, PA, eventually moving and establishing his own dental practice in Blossburg, PA. He was an avid trap-shooter. Some of his most noteworthy accomplishments in the sport; shot 100 straight targets over 150 plus times since 1979, and hit 200 targets 40 plus times; 1996 his average for Pennsylvania Singles was tops with a .9944 and finished second place in Ohio at the National Championship; in 2009 he was named into the PSSA Hall of Fame. Doc has been quoted before saying trap-shooting is his second love, but his first love is his wife, Pat, and three sons. He also played minor league baseball, enjoyed turkey hunting, playing golf with family and friends, fishing, traveling and was a true Philadelphia sports fan.
Doc is survived by his wife, Patricia, of Mainesburg, PA; 3 sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin and Jen Ollock of Churchville, PA, Dr. Stephen "Tug" and Lindsay Ollock of Mansfield, PA, Ryan Ollock of Broomfield, CO; a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph M. and Carol Ollock of Centreville, MD.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 10, 2014 from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 106 N. Washington St., Canton, PA with Father Michael McCormick as celebrant. Donations may be made in Doc's memory to Guthrie Hospice, 421 Tomahawk Rd., Towanda, PA 18848.
