Obituary of Richard L. Borden
Richard L. Borden, age 57, of Millerton, PA died Thursday, December 30, 2010 at his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Richard was born on May 2, 1953 in Wellsboro, PA, a son of Harland and Elizabeth (Sheerer) Borden. He was the husband of Susan A. (Kress) Woodard Borden and would have celebrated their 19th anniversary on July 25th. Richard had been employed by Anchor Glass for 38 years as a fork lift operator. He attended the Millerton Wesleyan Church. Richard enjoyed motorcycle riding, Endless Mtns.-Mansfield PA Chapter at Coxs Harley-Davidson, Dressers Assoc. for touring bikes, hunting and fishing.
Richard is survived by his wife, Susan; two sons, William Borden of Tioga, PA, Richard Michael (Cory Nederfield) Borden of Middlebury Center, PA, his mother, Elizabeth Borden of Wellsboro, PA, step son Larry Woodard Jr. of Elmira, NY, a step daughter, Karen Pierce of Caton, NY; three grandchildren, Mariah Raine Borden, Nicole Pierce, and Cameron Pierce; a sister and brother-in-law, Nedra and Gary Loomis of Mansfield, PA, and sister, Michele Smith of Elmira, NY; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Harland, and his siblings, Donald, LuVerne, and Corinne.
Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, January 2, 2011 from 3 to 6 PM at the Jacquelyn A. Buckheit Funeral Chapel, Crematory & Monuments, PC, 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. Funeral services will immediately follow the viewing at 6 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Laurie Greenlaw officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1948 E.
